If you are an experienced Chief Accountant, this opportunity in our client's office in Warsaw is a perfect match for you.
Main duties:
- Supervising your team and allocating their tasks
- Being fully responsible for statutory books and tax settlements (including signing of tax declarations)
- Taking ownership of month-end-close processes
- Cooperating with global shared service centers
- Implementing system/process changes to adjust them to new accounting/tax rules
- Monitoring the correctness, quality, and flow of accounting documents and accounting records
- Generating financial reports and statements
- Preparing declarations and handling all state authorities’ requirements relating to financial tasks of the company (e.g. NBP, GUS, and any other)
- Filing all obligatory tax declarations (e.g. VAT, CIT, WHT, and local taxes reporting and compliance)
- Completing internal controls designed to ensure accounts are in accordance with local and US GAAP (SOX)
- Cooperating with internal and external auditors, tax authorities and banks
- Providing advice on complicated tax and accounting matters within finance department and to other business partners (with support of external tax advisors)
- Optimizing accounting processes
- Cooperating with a providers of tax, legal and accounting services
- Supporting payroll preparation, approval flow, and payroll execution
- min. 5 years of experience as a Chief Accountant
- Experience leading a small team
- Very good English for daily use
- Experience in ERP accounting systems, ideally Oracle
- Expert knowledge of Polish accounting and tax laws as well as familiarity with IFRS or US GAAP
- strong Excel (min. pivot tables, V-lookups)
