Opis

For one of our Clients we are currently looking for Purchasing Manager who will be responsible for:

- Manages suppliers to negotiate and resolve performance issues having an impact on costs, customer service or inventory.
- Identifies margin improvement opportunities through reviews and analysis leading to negotiation of into stock, customer specific costs (SPAs), and bulk and special buys.
- Leverages company’s size and capabilities to maximize margin and supplier performance.
- Supports and executes region-wide strategies and actively participates in margin improvement activities, initiatives and meetings.
- Takes ownership of replacement costs accuracy to ensure systems are utilizing negotiated levels to maximize profitability.
- Develops supplier performance metrics, oversees tracking, evaluates results, and works with suppliers to improve performance.
- Works with new and existing suppliers to identify ways to reduce costs and add value.
- Communicates with suppliers concerning required products, volume, timing, costs and quality.
- Maintains vendor relationships ensuring best pricing and order preference is received.
- Provides strong leadership and encourages professional development to ensure future growth and reduce turnover, explain and teach appropriate policies, procedures, and associated practices.
- Ensures compliance with standard policies, procedures, internal audit, Sarbanes-Oxley controls, and quality control processes.
- Understands and supports LEAN programs and procedures for document control, purchasing, process control, corrective and preventative action, and control of quality records.
- Remains informed on market conditions affecting costs and product availability.
- Evaluates price trends, new products launches, and product availability for cost improvement.
- Assists with recruitment, selection and training and coaching of personnel.

As a Manager - Purchasing you will be responsible for complete oversight and management of purchasing for assigned locations and buyers. You will work with branch, pricing, and region management to identify and execute cost savings opportunities, including supplier selections, negotiating into stock costs, customer specific costs and supplier programs. You will optimize and maintain strong supplier relationships.

Wymagania

- Team Player who will actively support the Team in day to day purchasing activities as workload dictates
- Bachelors’ Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred
- 3- 5 years required, 7 years preferred of increasing responsibility in purchasing management experience.
- 3 years required, 5 years preferred of distribution and wholesale experience.
- 3 years required, 5 years preferred of people management experience.
- Common purchasing and inventory concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer, mathematical and analytical skills.
- Strong time management skills / team leadership skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to demonstrate teamwork, leadership and flexibility while working with all levels of the organization preferred.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion preferred.
- Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and find solutions preferred.
- Ability to explain and teach policies, procedures and practices preferred.
